The River Band has become one of our favorite staples and we are happy to now make both available for ordering again, as well as offering a new narrower 4mm width and multiple stone options.

This ring is an exercise in simplicity, and proportions.  Just as with the wider 6mm variation, the horizontal dimensions of the inlay match the vertical width of the band. In this case: a 4mm wide inlaid in the 4mm wide band.  The band is a comfort fit with a generously rounded interior to easily slide over pesky knuckles.

Stone options (and their stories):

Bloodstone~ the classic and original, also known as Heliotrope; a type of hard jasper/chalcedony durable enough for everyday wear and longevity.  Its deep teal green makes it a neutral color.  Not quite black, but not yet overtly green.  And its subtle flecks of red hematite add a twist of distinction and mystery.  We love it not only for its strength, but also it's lore. The Ancient Greeks associated it with the vitality of life and claimed it held the power of the sun, hence its name, Heliotrope.  Others say it assists in grounding you to the physical world, the here and now.  What better way to mark a milestone, a union, or a momentous gift to yourself?

Onyx~ Historically Onyx has been carved into representations of figures such as Mars and Hercules to symbolize strength and protection.  Legend has it, that while Venus was sleeping Eros cut her fingernails, when they touched the earth they were transformed into pieces of onyx.  It's all very romantic, but also practical.  It's a durable stone that makes a strikingly graphic and classic piece.

White Jasper~ There's a calming purity to this one, and it shines brightest when set in yellow gold. Folklore from the fourth century tells of jasper having been used to bring about the rain.  American Indian tribes used it for water dowsing.  It's no wonder then that it is said to nurture our desire for calm, balancing our yin and yang.

Image #1 & #2 show white jasper in 18k yellow.  Image #3 shows the 6mm version in 10k yellow next to the 4mm in 18k yellow.  On the model are the rings from the previous images as well as a 4mm 10k yellow & onyx.

*A note on ordering~ we offer this ring in sizes 5-10, and in many more gold colors, but due to the number of variants we are allowed on the site we unfortunately can't list them all here.  If you'd like to order a size not listed, or a metal not shown, please email us studio@katejones.us and we can send a custom invoice along.
